The usual precautions for handling chemicals must be observed. These include the measures set out in the guidelines of the organizations responsible for safety at work, in particular, good ventilation and fume extraction at the workplace, care of the skin and the wearing of eye protection.
When using this product, the information and advice given in our Safety Data Sheet should be observed. Due attention should also be given to the precautions necessary for handling chemicals.
According to all the data at our disposal, Acronal PLUS 7865 does not need to be labelled as a dangerous substance or preparation as defined in the relevant local directives according to their current status.
Acronal PLUS 7865 must not be allowed to come into contact with metals or alloys that are susceptible to corrosion. It is very important to ensure that containers are kept tightly closed or that the airspace in storage tanks is kept saturated with water vapor. Exposure to frost or sources of intense heat must be avoided.
Acronal PLUS 7865 contains sufficient preservative for transportation. More preservative must be added during subsequent storage to protect the material against microbial attack and tank hygiene measures must be adopted (cf. our Technical Information Bulletin "Storage tanks for polymer dispersions").
Acronal PLUS 7865 has a shelf life of approximately nine months from date of manufacture at temperatures between 10°C to 30°C.

The APEO-free formulation in Acronal® PLUS 7865 provides significant environmental and health advantages. APEO (Alkylphenol Ethoxylates) are surfactants that have been linked to environmental persistence and endocrine disruption in aquatic ecosystems. By completely eliminating APEO, Acronal® PLUS 7865 supports sustainable construction practices, enables compliance with increasingly stringent environmental regulations and eco-label requirements, reduces environmental impact throughout the product lifecycle, and improves workplace safety by eliminating substances of concern. This makes it ideal for manufacturers developing environmentally responsible waterproofing products that meet green building certification criteria. The APEO-free chemistry does not compromise performance - Acronal® PLUS 7865 delivers the same exceptional mechanical strength, flexibility, and water resistance expected from premium waterproofing polymers while meeting modern sustainability standards. This combination of performance and environmental responsibility positions it as a future-proof choice for construction chemical formulations.
Dirt pickup resistance is a critical performance characteristic for exposed waterproofing systems, particularly for roofs, terraces, and facades. When waterproofing coatings attract and retain dirt, dust, and atmospheric pollutants, several problems occur: aesthetic degradation with visible discoloration and staining affecting building appearance, accelerated aging as dirt particles can trap moisture and promote polymer degradation, reduced reflectivity for light-colored coatings intended for solar heat reflection, maintenance burden requiring frequent cleaning to maintain appearance and performance, and potential for biological growth as accumulated dirt can support algae and mildew development. Acronal® PLUS 7865's excellent dirt pickup resistance is achieved through its optimized polymer composition and fine particle size distribution, creating a smooth, dense film surface that resists soil adhesion. This characteristic is particularly valuable for high-visibility applications like commercial building facades, premium residential roofing systems, and architectural structures where long-term aesthetic preservation is important. The dirt pickup resistance contributes to extended service life and reduced lifecycle costs by maintaining both appearance and protective performance over many years of environmental exposure.
Acronal® PLUS 7865 is specifically engineered for high-performance elastomeric waterproofing applications where the combination of strength, flexibility, and environmental resistance is critical. Primary applications include elastomeric roof coatings for flat roofs, terraces, and podium decks requiring long-term weather protection, waterproofing mastic systems for vertical and horizontal surfaces exposed to water intrusion, facade protective coatings for exterior walls requiring water resistance with breathability, balcony and terrace waterproofing systems subject to foot traffic and UV exposure, and specialized industrial coatings for demanding chemical or environmental exposure. The polymer is particularly effective in situations requiring elastomeric properties to accommodate substrate movement and thermal cycling, superior water barrier performance including resistance to hydrostatic pressure, impact resistance for trafficked areas and mechanical stress, alkaline stability for application over cementitious substrates, and weathering durability including UV, temperature extremes, and atmospheric pollutants. Formulations typically use Acronal® PLUS 7865 as the primary binder in combination with appropriate pigments, fillers, and additives to create one-component or two-component waterproofing systems. VUBS Corporation can provide starting point formulations and application guidance based on your specific performance requirements and market positioning.
The optimal dosage of Acronal® PLUS 7865 depends on the specific application and desired performance characteristics. For elastomeric waterproofing coatings, typical polymer content ranges from 25-40% of total wet formulation, with higher percentages providing enhanced elasticity and water resistance. For waterproofing mastic coatings, 30-50% polymer content is common, balancing viscosity, thixotropy, and final film properties. Facade protective coatings may use 20-35% depending on breathability requirements and substrate type. These percentages refer to the polymer dispersion as supplied, not dry polymer content. Formulations must be balanced with appropriate fillers (calcium carbonate, talc, silica), pigments for UV protection and desired color, rheology modifiers and thixotropes for application properties, defoamers and wetting agents, preservatives for in-can stability, and potentially crosslinkers for enhanced chemical and water resistance. The solids content of Acronal® PLUS 7865 (approximately 50%) should be considered when calculating dry film build and coverage rates. Laboratory trials are essential to optimize the formulation for your specific performance targets including tensile strength and elongation, water resistance and permeability, adhesion to relevant substrates, application viscosity and workability, and cost-performance balance. VUBS Corporation can assist with dosage optimization and provide starting formulations based on your application requirements and raw material selection.
Proper storage is critical for Acronal® PLUS 7865 to maintain its performance characteristics. Store at temperatures between 10-30°C in tightly closed containers or with storage tank headspace saturated with water vapor to prevent evaporation and skin formation. CRITICAL: The product must not contact bare iron, copper, or their alloys as these metals cause contamination, discoloration, and potential coagulation - use stainless steel, HDPE, or properly coated storage vessels and transfer equipment. Protect from freezing as exposure to frost causes irreversible coagulation and complete loss of usability. Similarly, avoid storage above 40°C and protect from direct sunlight which can accelerate aging. While the product contains transport stabilization, additional preservatives should be added for long-term storage to prevent microbial growth in the aqueous medium - consult VUBS Corporation for compatible biocide recommendations. Tank hygiene is essential: regular cleaning prevents contamination buildup, and proper maintenance extends product shelf life and prevents quality issues. The product has a shelf life of approximately nine months from manufacture date under recommended storage conditions. Implement FIFO (first-in-first-out) inventory rotation, maintain proper labeling with batch numbers and receipt dates, and conduct periodic visual inspection for signs of settling, skin formation, coagulation, or off-odor. If material has been exposed to incorrect storage conditions (freezing, overheating, contamination), contact VUBS Corporation technical support before use for evaluation and guidance.
